Indonesia ✈ Bali (2018) 5D4N, 4 pax travelling with average spend RM2,000 per pax



We decided to choose Bali as the first place to visit in Indonesia, the country with 2000 plus islands.
The choice was a great one as we get to experience different cultures as well as meeting great Balinese people! Without further delay, let’s dive into the trip details!

As for the spending, in 02 pairs of couple, we spent RM 2,000 per person for the whole trip which included all the Bar, good eatery, swings, awesome stay in villa etc.

Here’s the itinerary that we planned and went:

Day 1 : Malaysia KL – Bali (Kuta)


  •     7:30am: Arrived KLIA2 and breakfast.
    *We came early to avoid bad traffic.
    *Costing: GRAB RM65, breakfast RM10

  • ·         2:00pm: Arrived Ngurah Rai International Airport (Kuta, Bali)*Took a cab from here to our hotel
    *Costing: Rp. 300k per trip.

  •     3:30pm: Check in Brown Feather Hotel
    *A classic themed interior boutique hotel with lots of greenery. Quiet surroundings and convenience as there are plenty eatery and mini mart nearby.

  •      4:30pm: Late lunch @ Bebek Tepi Sawah which located 95m away from our hotel.
    *Friendly service, great foods, peaceful ambience, awesome interior!
    *Must order their signature food – Crispy duck (bebek)
    *Costing: Rp 263,900k for 2 pax

  •       5:30pm: After a heavy meal, myself and hubby decided to take a leisure 2km walk from the restaurant to the next dining place. Found that Bali houses usually keep a front space to build a mini temple for the family. Love their craftmanship! They build such unique fences for the house and gates.

  • ·         6:00pm: Light dinner @ La Laguna Bali*A Spanish Gypsy themed dining place. Suggest for reservation at their website as they are usually fully booked. Love the efforts that they put in to build this place. Definitely a great place for photoshooting and Instagram. Friendly staff and good foods too! I highlight recommend this spot for a sunset dining experience or maybe a place to chill after a tired day.
    *Costing: Rp 182,500 for 2 drinks and 1 tapas

  • ·         9:30pm: Supper @ Bebek Tepi Sawah again!
*We made a return to this restaurant because our friends missed the dinner (they just return from pre-wed photoshooting). Hence, we brought them here and ourselves had some supper too!
*Costing: Rp 130,380 for 2 pax (only count my side supper)

  • ·         11:00pm: We visited a mini mart next to our hotel for some snacks and drinks before we call this day off. Hubby got himself some local drinks.



Day 2 : Bali (North Kuta & Kuta)
  • ·         8:30am: Depart to Tanah Lot Temple (North Kuta), we engaged a local driver service.


  • ·         9:15am: Arrived Tanah Lot Temple 
*I must say we spent much time here as we found a few spots for great photoshooting therefore we overrun the original itinerary. However, we do not like to rush in our trip, hence, we only leave once we feel hungry. LOL
*Costing: Rp 60k per person for entrance fee

  • ·         10:30am: Breakfast @ Natys Restaurant
*We go for the breakfast set which consisted of 1 cooked dish, 1 fruit juice, 1 coffee/tea, some pastry and fruits platter. This restaurant stick together with a souvenir shop which allows you to do some shopping after your meal.
*Costing: Rp 60k per person

  • ·         12:00pm: Head to Kuta which is nearly 1 hour drive away (estimate), but actual took us nearly 2 hours drive.


  • ·         2:30pm: Arriving The Nest Beachside Spa (we actually late, our appointment was 2pm) :P

*We love the spa services here, in fact this is our favourite among 3 spa we went. Myself and hubby took 60 minutes Balinese Massage with sand compress package and we were arranged in the couple room.
*Costing: Rp. 170k per pax

The view that makes you relax even more after the spa, love the lemon sorbet! Tasty!

  • ·         3:50pm: As we are behind planned time, we decided to take our late lunch at a cafe right next to the spa. Namely: Lilla Pantai
*Foods taste was average but the location was excellent! We are facing the quiet beach and we do enjoy the wind blowing during the meal. Especially after the spa, it’s really relaxing.
*Costing: Rp 254,150 for 4 pax

  • ·         5:00pm: We supposed to go Uluwatu which located at South Kuta, however we cancel this due to the heavy traffic that we faced. Hence, we went to Dream Island - Pantai Mertasari Sanur. 


  • ·         5:50pm: We able to catch a sunset here and got some nice snapshots with the iconic swing. The reflection and water level was just nice. *Costing: Rp 20k per person for entrance fee

  • ·         8:00pm: Dinner @ Warung Bunana
*This place is a MUST visit for great Roti Canai and Teh Tarik. Inspired by Malaysian delight, this shop serves a local style of Roti Canai that makes you crave for more! Furthermore, they charge a fair price. Totally worth it! Each of us ordered 2nd plate right after tasting the 1st one.

  • ·         10:00pm: Head back to hotel and for tomorrow early check out.


Day 3 : Bali (Kuta to Ubud)
  • ·         7:00am: Check out and head to Ubud. We purposely check out early to avoid heavy traffic as Ubud is nearly 1:30 hour drive away. We do not want to go through any delay again. :D


  • ·         8:30am: Arrived Tegallalang Rice Terrace, the iconic place where you can see beautiful rice paddies being planted along the slopes. 
*Take your time to enjoy the scenic view here and watch out so that you are not stepping on the paddies.
*Costing: Entrance Rp 10k per person | Parking Rp. 40k per car.

  • ·         10:00am: Breakfast @ Rice Terrace Café
*Specially chose this for the scenic view over the rice terrace. Foods taste average thou but worth for the view.
*Costing: Rp 463k for 4 pax

  • ·         11:00am: Ubud Palace 
*Drop by to explore, good thing they don’t charge any entrance fees. Small place to explore.



  • ·         11:30pm: Pura Taman Saraswati
*A beautiful temple with a large lily pond in front. Just like a movie scene, you can take good pictures here! Free entrance too!

  • ·         12:00pm: Ubud Art Market
*As we are ahead schedule so we went to check out the market. Bought some nice crafts here, but make sure to bargain and really ask for at least 70% discount.

  • ·         2:00pm: Bali Swing
*One of the highlight of this trip was to get some swings here. Although it is quite costly but it’s worth for the experience. They give good services. You can get plenty pictures here with your imagination.
*Costing: USD 35 per person
*including: entrance fee, lunch buffet, drinks (coffee, tea, water) and 21 activities: 12 single swings (from 10m to 78m above the ground), old-school tandem swing, 5 cute nests, helicopter and heart rock in the jungle and huge stone over the edge above the valley with an amazing view on the canyon and waterfall. Swinging time is not limited and amount of use neither

  • ·         5:30pm: Dinner @ Melting Wok Warung & checking out Ubud streets
*We suppose to dine here but we decided to “Da bao” because we want to spend time at our luxury villa. Love the foods here. Taste good! During the wait we walk around as this is shopping streets and of cause, did some shopping. :D


  • ·         7:00pm: Check in to Alosta Luxury Private Villa
*We madly in love with this villa! It is so spacious and comfortable to stay in, it’s located in the middle of paddy field and the interior really blow us away! A mix of Balinese and modern contem design. We were grateful for making a right choice!

Day 4 : Bali (Ubud to Kuta Selatan)
  • ·         8:00am: Check out from Alosta Luxury Private Villa after the breakfast that specially prepared for us.

  • ·         9:00am: Pura Tirta Empul
*A temple that famous for the holy shower. We went early so that the pond won’t be too pack with people as we saw some pictures with the crowd that really scares us.
*There’s a new art market right at the exit where you can get some nice stuff as souvenir. Again, remember to bargain.
*Costing: Rp 15k for 1 pax entrance fee | Rp 15k for 1 locker | Rp 10k for 1 sarong rental.

  • ·         11:00am: Brunch @ Bali Bistro
*Purposely hunt this bistro as it is famous for the French bread because the lady who runs this is a French who settled down in Bali. She is friendly and serve good foods!
*Costing: Rp 340k for 4 pax

  • ·         1:00pm: Back to Kuta
*We decided to cancel Pura Kehen Temple because we afraid that the built up traffic might affected our schedule.

  • ·         3:00pm: Check in to Melody Guest House 
*It’s a simple guest house without fancy design yet locate at a good location.
*Sorry as I forgotten to snap picture for this.


  • ·         3:30pm: Sudden plan! Pampering time @ Kupu Kupu Mas Spa
*Recommended by a local we decided to try this out. We even got a special treatment! Free buggy ride from our guest house plus return transfer.
*Costing: Rp 300k for 60 minutes / pax

  • ·         5:30pm: Beautiful sunset @ Rock Bar
*One of the high rated place, we came to experience having a drink by the cliff overlooking the scenic ocean view. The sunset was magnificent.
*Be sure to be there by 5pm for a nice spot and also for the long walk to the bar. Early booking required!
*Costing: Rp 600k for 4 pax | Rp. 100k for cab 2 ways transfer

  • ·         8:00pm: Dinner @ Menaga Café 
*Recommended by a local, we came for seafood dinner by the beach. We were late thou as some of the seafoods sold out. Hence we go for 2 fishes, 1 plate of prawns, 1 plate of lala, 1 vege. Taste average, most of them grilled and the environment abit crowded.
*Costing: Rp 900k for 4 pax (actually only Rp 892,100 but they took the balance as tips)





Day 5 : Bali (Kuta) to Malaysia KL
  • 9:00am: Breakfast @ Warung Musik MC*We were told by guest house operator that we have free breakfast at their Warung so we decided to try (We did plan to go another place for breakfast). Surprisingly the breakfast taste good so we seated comfortably here for few hours to chill before we check out.
    *Costing: Rp 92k for 4 pax




  • 12:00pm: Check out from hotel and head to area that nearer to airport. We are fortunate that we able to engage a good GRAB driver which he offered to drive us for half day.

  • 1:00pm: Spa @ Griya Bugar 1*Had the last spa before we head back Malaysia. This place is nice, comfortable interior but not our favourite thou. :D
    *Costing: Rp 175k per pax for 60 minutes

  • 3:00pm: Lunch @ Ayam Tulang Lunak Malioboro*Recommended by our driver, we had an awesome meal! Specially love the signature dish, the crispy bones chicken. Taste fabulous! Strongly recommend!
    *Costing: Rp 707,250 for 4 pax

  • 4:30pm: Souvenir shopping @ Krisna Oleh Oleh Bali*Again, recommended by our driver, he brought us here, where Balinese also get their stuff here. We able to get some nice stuff (house décor, soaps, snacks etc) here with low price!
    *They even have a counter where you can pay to box up your stuff for boarding.

  • 5:30pm: Off to Ngurah Rai International Airport*Be sure to go early for the loooooooooooong Q. 😊*Costing: Driver that drove us since 12pm, Rp 200k for 4 pax

We are grateful that we met good people during this trip and we get to experience different cultures plus new experiences added too! We also made some awesome friends! We will be back to Bali again for sure. Love the villas and sunset!
