Thailand : Krabi & Koh Phi Phi

It’s been a long time since my last post. For this time, I would like to share with you my experiences at Thailand - Krabi & Phi Phi Island. May my little diary would be benefits your trips planning there.

With a group of 6, we planned a 4 days 3 nights trip with budget RM1,500 per person (Excluding flight and hotels). Of cause, we booked our flight earlier with Air Asia. We roughly spent RM500 on the flight and hotels. Below are the details:

Return Flight (Air Asia) : RM344

Phi Phi - Banyan Villa Hotel (1 night) : RM266 per room

**Comment: A very comfortable hotel with a nice garden and facilities. Beautiful entrance with woods interior. Short walking distance to Jetty and easy access to the beach.

Krabi - Orange Tree House Hotel (2 nights) : RM95.70 per room per night

- Address : 12 Pruksa-U-Tit, Paknam, Krabi Town, 81000 Thailand

**Comment: Simple and clean room design, clean and comfortable. Easy access to Krabi town, and right in front the Krabi weekend night market.

And here comes the trip details! To cut the long story short, I’m gonna write in point form

Day 1 : Malaysia KL - Thailand Krabi - Phi Phi

- TBS took klia transit to KLIA2 : RM26.50/person

8:00am - Arrival at Krabi, purchased return ferry ticket to Phi Phi Island. : 800 Baht/p

8:30am - Took taxi (in fact a big vip van - commuter) to Jetty. : 600 Baht/van/way

9:00am - Hop on ferry to Phi Phi Island. It took around 1 hour 45 minutes to reach. Suggest to buy some light breakfast before you hop on the ferry.

11:00am - Arrived Phi Phi Island, very very beautiful island with clean water. Take note that you need to pay 200 Baht/p as cleaning fees for the island.

12:00pm - Lunch at Papaya Restaurant which is walking distance from jetty. The meal cost us 1120 Baht for 6 person. Consider medium range price but worth paying as it really taste good and it is Halal too (for muslim friends).

1:30pm - Went for a hairdo after lunch with 3 nice colourful braids that cost us 150 Baht.

2:00pm - Check in Hotel and walk around Phi Phi, went to 7 Eleven bought some local snacks, drinks and also a thai sim card so that we can online. YAY! I took “Happy” sim card with only 300 Baht, guess what? It comes with 7 days unlimited data usage and some credit to make calls.

4:00pm - Took a long long steep walk to climb up Phi Phi Viewpoint.Take note there’s a fee to pay. The viewpoint allows you to enjoy a beautiful sunset and an overview of Phi Phi Ton Sai Bay. Remember to bring along torch light, towel, drinking water and wear comfortable shoe for hiking. However, drinks are selling at the counter where you need to pay the entrance fee. 30 Baht/p

7:00pm : Had dinner at Pum Thai Restaurant, small cafe concept with Thai foods served. The meal cost us 1285 Bath for 6 person. Remember to order the Mango sticky rice. Nice!

8:00pm - Headed to massage at Nuseeda Thai Massage. Great one! Price 250 Baht - 350 Baht per person per hour.

Day 2 : Thailand Phi Phi - Krabi

7:00am - After breakfast, gathered at one of the diving centre to ready for our shark watching tour. After briefing done by our tour guide diver - Jade and geared up, we walked to Ton Sai Bay and hop on our longtail boat. The shark watching tour was a lifetime experience although very tiring as you need to swim against the ocean current. But! You will get to see a wildlife shark with 1.8m long, few of them wondering around you! How cool is that?! 800 Baht/p include light snack (banana) and drinking water.

11:00am - Check out Hotel and headed to jetty for our boat ride back to Krabi. Sad to leave Phi Phi, such beautiful place.

2:00pm - Arrived Krabi pier, we booked a spa service earlier through online, and the fees included transfer as well therefore there’s someone waiting us with VIP van to fetch us to Wareerak Spa. It took us almost 1 hour ride to the spa resort which near to Emerald Pool. 

3:00pm - Received a great welcome upon arrival, clothing provided for spa. Services included body scrub, neck & shoulder massage, natural hot spring, coconut drink, yoga, light snack. All done at the hot spring, surrounded by natural view. We truly had a great time there. Unforgettable experience with good services provided. Strongly recommend if you have the time to spare. 2000 Baht/p

6:00pm - Wareerak VIP van sent us back to hotel, checked in and start hunting for dinner!

7:00pm - Through the recommendation of a local, we dine at Poo Dam Restaurant which is 10 minutes walk away from our hotel. True enough the seafoods are great and pricing was cheap too! We had 2 fishes, sotong, clam, tom yam, big shrimp, oyster etc for only 2556 Baht.

8:00pm - Walk around the night market and along the river walk due we met up with Krabi Festival - 365 Days. There are live concert, performances, food stalls etc! 

Day 3 : Krabi

8:00am - Our VIP van already waiting us in front hotel. 600 Baht/way/van

• Took our breakfast along the way. 420 Baht/meal - Chicken rice.
• Bought lot of snacks at Family Mart but only cost me 200 Baht.

9:00am - Hop on our hired Longtail boat. Due to we prefer a more flexible schedule and safety purpose we hired the whole boat. 2500 Baht/boat with life jacket and snorkeling gear on boat to rent.

• First we arrived Koh Poda, paid 200 Baht/p for the coming islands cleaning fees. Koh Poda is a quiet island with beautiful shore, ocean fishes and corals. We enjoyed the snorkeling here. Suggest to stay here longer.

• Then,we arrived at Long island, it suppose to have a long sandy beach across two island at the middle on the ocean, but due to the water level that raised, the sandy beach lost in the water. LOL! But we still get to walked for awhile. 

• Later on, the boat parked beside the island awhile and allow us to snorkel around.

• Lastly,we departed to Railay Beach, for some reasons we are not allow to snorkel at this shore. But, we get to chillax at one of the cafe with beautiful scenery and really tasty coconut! We had tea break here with beautiful scenery of Railay Beach. The sand feels like cotton! LOL!

3:00pm - We safely back to Aonang beach, had lunch nearby here. Seafood meal that cost us 1090 Baht. Due it is an overrated restaurant so I will not jot down what name is it :)

6:00pm - Arrived Hotel and grab a quick nap.

7:00pm - Out to Poo Dam Restaurant for dinner again. This round cost us around 1200 Baht.

8:00pm - Krabi night market shopping!!!! And street food attack!! :D

Day 4 : Krabi - Kuala Lumpur

9:00am - Breakfast at Krabi morning market. Walking distance 15 minutes from our hotel. With less than 300 Baht, 6 of us had a great breakfast here with local delicacies! Strongly recommend! 

11:00am - Snap picture with Krabi landmark - The black crab sculpture. Headed to Vogue Mall to shop for Rilakkuma stuff! (Thanks to a friend that told me about this) Bought lots Rilakkuma merchandise but only cost me around RM100.

12:00pm - Check out but leave our luggage due we headed to BIG-C Hypermart to shop for snacksssss! We spent around RM50 on the snacks and souvenir.

2:30pm - We picked up by our driver - VIP VAN to Krabi Airport. 600 Baht/way.
